Islamophobia, Sikhophobia and Hinduphobia

In Britain there are substantial communities of Muslims, Sikhs and Hindus. Isn’t it curious that Islamophobia exists but neither Sikhophobia nor Hinduphobia do? Perhaps this diagram goes some way to explaining the discrepancy:

To attempt to answer the question:

Option 1. Islamophobia

Is it Islamophobia which causes Muslims to commit the atrocities which we have become so used to over the last generation, or do the atrocities cause Islamophobia?

Which came first? As I remember, the word “Islamophobia” was never heard before the atrocities started.

Option 2. Racism

If these behaviours from Muslims are a response to racism on the part of the British people then why do we not see the same from Sikhs or Hindus who have similar pigmentation and ancestry to the Pakistanis who make up the majority of Muslims in Britain?

Option 3. Cultural Racism

These behaviours cannot be the result of cultural racism because there is no such thing. It is a bogus concept but its effects will be very real because it sits at the heart of the equally bogus definition of Islamophobia which has been produced by the All Party Parliamentary Group on Muslims:

“Islamophobia is rooted in racism and is a type of racism that targets expressions of
      Muslimness or perceived Muslimness.”

Cultural racism is the “type of racism” referred to. See HERE for details.

Even if cultural racism did exist then the same objection as for option 2 would apply; why do we not see the same behaviours from Sikhs and Hindus?

Option 4. Islam

Bombings and death threats

“We will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve…” (Koran 3:151).

“…I have been made victorious with terror” (Bukhari 4:52:220).

FGM

“Circumcision is obligatory for both men and women. For men it consists of removing the prepuce from the penis, and for women, removing the prepuce (bazr) of the clitoris (not the clitoris itself, as some mistakenly assert). (Hanbalis hold that circumcision of women is not obligatory but sunna, while Hanafis consider it a mere courtesy to the husband)” (Reliance of the Traveller section e.4.3).

Supremacism

“He it is Who has sent His Messenger (Muhammad SAW) with guidance and the religion of truth (Islam), that He may make it (Islam) superior over all religions…” (Koran 48:28).

See HERE for further details.

Victimhood

The more atrocities there are committed by Muslims the more we hear from other Muslims, and duped Kafirs, that Muslims are the real victims.

Why should that be? Consider the Arabic saying “Show a victim’s face and you will take over”. That is how Mohammed gained a foothold and then power in Medina, after all.

Rape gangs

The vulnerable girls of Northern England, and elsewhere, sadly suffered the concurrence of three phenomena, the contempt found in Islamic culture for both Kafirs and females, plus the paedophilic example of Mohammed, the “perfect man”.

Jew-hatred

”…humiliation and wretchedness were stamped upon them and they were visited with wrath from Allah. That was because they disbelieved in Allah’s revelations and slew the prophets wrongfully” (Koran 2:61).

”…The last hour would not come unless the Muslims will fight against the Jews and the Muslims would kill them until the Jews would hide themselves behind a stone or a tree and a stone or a tree would say: Muslim, or the servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me; come and kill him; but the tree Gharqad would not say, for it is the tree of the Jews” (Sahih Muslim 41:6985 (and part of Hamas’ charter)).

Integration

“O believers, take not Jews and Christians as friends; they are friends of each other. Whoso of you makes them his friends is one of them…” (Koran 5:51).

“Muslim communities are not like others in Britain and the country should accept they will never integrate” (Trevor Phillips, former chairman of the Equality and Human Rights Commission). See HERE for further details.

All things considered, I believe we have found our answer, don’t you?

  1. ECAW's blog Post author

I posted a version of the diagram above in a comment at a very pro-Islamophobia blog. The response can be found here. I have reproduced it here as a comment with my responses interspersed in bold:

Thank you for this example of far-right Islamophobic nonsense.

    My pleasure.

You have provided a convincing example of why Islamophobia is racism, and punctures the weak argument that it refers to a religion rather than a race.

You have this completely the wrong way round. The great majority of Muslims, Sikhs and Hindus in Britain originate from the same place, the Indian subcontinent, and share similar pigmentation and ancestry. If Islamophobia is racism then Sikhs and Hindus must surely attract equally negative perceptions. But they don’t, do they? There can only be one difference, their cultures which are centred around their respective religions.

The image above is meaningless. When it says “Muslims”,”Sikhs” and “Hindus” does this mean some, all or a few?

Ah yes, the “let’s quantify the unquantifiable” gambit. The diagram shows quite accurately that, for instance, bombings and death threats regularly emerge from the Ummah whereas they regularly do not emerge from the Sikh or Hindu communities.

Do the crimes-faults listed on the left of the image apply to “Muslims”,”Sikhs” and “Hindus” in the UK, elsewhere or everywhere?

See that union jack in the top left corner? It is there for a purpose.

Let’s assume it means a “few” from each of these groups, and is based on alleged crimes-faults in the UK.

Let’s assume it means an inderterminate “some”. If Islam was innocent there would be no such “crimes-faults” from Muslims, just as is the case with Sikhs and Hindus. If you can point to any pattern of politics by violence or threats of violence, in Britain, with claimed jusification from the Gurū Granth Sāhibor or the the Vedas please let me know.

Starting from the bottom of the list.

Integration = Surely a few from all these groups are immigrants who have not yet integrated fully in UK society.

Certainly, a few from all groups of immigrants do not fully integrate but Muslims stand out collectively. Trevor Phillips was the chairman of the Equality and Human Rights Commission who commissioned the 1998 Runnymede report which popularised the term “Islamophobia”. In 2016 he realised that he had “got almost everything wrong” and accepted that “Muslim communities are not like others in Britain and the country should accept they will never integrate”.

It is not really surprising when Allah tells them “Take not the Jews and the Christians for friends. They are friends one to another. He among you who taketh them for friends is (one) of them” (Koran 5:51).

Jew-hatred = Surely Muslims and Jews have a shared history of conflict and co-existence, which does not apply to Sikhs and Hindus. There is an obvious conflict in Israel-Palestine. Hatred of Jews or Muslims is for the few religious fundamentalists, others would reasonably disapprove of actions not religions.

“Hatred of Jews…is for the few religious fundamentalists”. Such as Allah who said (of the Jews):

“There is for you an excellent example (to follow) in Abraham and those with him, when they said to their people: “We are clear of you and of whatever ye worship besides Allah: we have rejected you, and there has arisen, between us and you, enmity and hatred for ever,- unless ye believe in Allah and Him alone” (Koran 60:4)

and Mohammed who, according to his principal biographer Ibn Ishaq, addressed the Jewish Qurayza tribe as “You brothers of monkeys”…just before slaughtering them.

Rape-gangs = No religious person Muslim or not would approve of rape. Far-right extremists in the UK have labelled people who have been involved in gang-rape cases as “Muslims”, and obsessively focused on these cases, but this designation is meaningless.

Allah was all for rape. He explicitly rewarded Mohammed and his soldiers with captured infidel women as sex slaves:

“O Prophet! surely We have made lawful to you your wives whom you have given their dowries, and those whom your right hand possesses out of those whom Allah has given to you as prisoners of war” (Koran 33:50).

This is why members of the rape gangs would sometimes quote the Koran to their victims.

Victimhood =In the UK racism has changed to focusing on Muslims. This comparison is meaningless.

This will be the bogus concept of “cultural racism” you are referring to. See here for details.

Supremacism = This is a tiny minority of Islamist fundamentalists, who so distort Islam, they cannot be described meaningfully as Muslims.

You realise you are practising takfir on the jihadis? Not even Al Azhar University, the highest authority in Sunni Islam, will do that, presumably because they recognise in jihadism an authentic reflection of Mohammed’s own example.

Was Allah distorting Islam when he said:

“He it is Who has sent His Messenger (Muhammad SAW) with guidance and the religion of truth (Islam), that He may make it (Islam) superior over all religions.” (Koran 48:28)

As for the myth of the tiny minority, they are a large enough minority to mount military insurgencies in most of the countries bordering Islamdom from Nigeria to Thailand, and periodic deadly attacks in every country with a significant minority of Muslims (over 35,000 since a website called “thereligionofpeace” started keeping count after 9/11).

The slogan “they will not replace us” is a popular obsession with the white supremacist far-right.

Really? I didn’t know. I am neither a white supremacist nor far-right. Nor do I see what relevance this has to the discussion.

FGM = Female genital mutilation has nothing to do with Islam (or Christianity). There is no mention of it in the Koran, the life of the prophet or his sayings. It is however a barbaric cultural practice that mainly exists in some Muslim majority countries, like Egypt, where it is practiced by Muslims and Coptic Christians. The idea it is a religious duty is wrong.

It certainly does appear in the hadiths, with Mohammed approving of the “less severe kind as that is better for a woman and more desirable for a husband” (Sunan Abu Dawud 41:5251).

It also appears in the manual of Islamic Law (more or less synonymous with Sharia) “The Reliance of the Traveller” (certified by Al-Azhar University). This is what it says in section e.4.3:

“Circumcision is obligatory for both men and women. For men it consists of removing the prepuce from the penis, and for women, removing the prepuce (bazr) of the clitoris (not the clitoris itself, as some mistakenly assert). (Hanbalis hold that circumcision of women is not obligatory but sunna, while Hanafis consider it a mere courtesy to the husband).”

So the idea that it is not a religious duty, or more specifically done by some Muslims as a religious duty, is wrong.

I am well aware that FGM is a cultural practice that pre-dates Islam and that the most grievous form, as practised in Egypt and Somalia, is called “Pharaohnic” but Muslim girls are regularly mutilated in Britain, with the authorities looking the other way, while Sikh and Hindu girls are not.

Death Threats = Tiny minority of Islamist fundamentalists, who cannot be described meaningfully as Muslims.

Anyone who seriously criticises Islam has to expect death threats, even that nice Maajid Nawaz who merely retweeted a very innocuous Jesus and Mo cartoon. And why not? Mohammed himself dealt with critics by assassination.

Bombings = Oil, war, religion and history closely link Europe (and hence USA) with the so called Middle East (middle to who?).

Let’s deflect the discussion away from the point made in the diagram, shall we? Islamic apologetics depend on the three “D”s…Denial, Deflection and Denigration.

I am referring to such activities as blowing up children at pop concerts, as you very well know.

Islamist fundamentalism is an extremist political not religious movement, which is at war with the West. This has nothing to do Islam.

Islam is an extremist political AND religious movement which has been at war with the West, the East, the North and the South since its inception (apart from those times when it has been militarily weak).

Read Ibn Ishaq’s biography of Mohammed here and tell me that he wasn’t an Islamist, Fundamentalist Extremist.

Many Muslims will have a political view on the Middle East, some may be activists, but the actions and views expressed by Islamist Fundamentalists are both illogical and contradict core Islamic values. So this image explains more about you, than Muslims, Sikhs, Hindus or anybody else. Why the far-right racists have focused on Muslims as a hate target is purely to do with Western politics. There has to be hate target for these people. Their hatred of Jews led to the Holocaust, the greatest genocide in history.

    Of course, the denigration.

i hope you can find God, and take a balanced view of religions. All of them offer a path to God, while also putting up a barrier. Think on this.

Yes, I hope I can find God, and before Allah finds me. You know what he plans for my future, and that of everyone else who declines to believe in him.

Excellent. I think the meme on it’s own could be misinterpreted though, I think some people might read the list as things you are suggesting are the causes. I think it might just possibly have more impact without the list just ending with the question “What accounts for the difference?”

I made some related points a while ago with this post:

Very logical. I notice that the words islamophobia and homophobia have only two points of commonality: Appending the suffix phobia is the means to shut down disagreement and portray them as victims of an irrational fear, which is the definition of a phobia; both terms are phony.
